My step kids don't always eat Mexican food, but the American food is equally delicious. We've been to other Hidalgo's restaurants in San Angelo, but the Christoval location is the absolute best!! ”

“ Good Tex-mex my order was pecado mexicano was great at least 4stars Enchalada's were very good The only minus is no alcohol served ( I've thought it was illegal to sell Tex-mex without Beer). ”
“ Very affordable and a very wide selection on the menu serving breakfast, standard american food,like chicken fried steak, hamburgers, steak fingers, specializing in Tex-Mex, service is very good and if you can do it better, then why did you come here? The chili relleno is not what you might be accustomed but it is good and one of the best we have found in this area. If you like old style chips and salsa that is what they serve, thick corn chips that don't break when you heap beans on them and blended salsa. The salsa can be surprisingly hot after a bit. The heat is delayed, I don't know how they do it, but after a few seconds you'll be drinking water and asking for a refill. The service is just as good as any place I've eaten. Some person complained about their water, the water is great and politely served with lemons which we requested. If you are around here you better be able to make great Tex-Mex yourself or come here and be nice, knowing it is friendly, good old Tex-Mex, breakfast and a surprisingly wide selection of American food at a good price served by good people. ”
“ I've been coming here for years when I go home. The food and service aren't out of this world, but it's Christoval, folks; expectations can't be set too high here. The food is hot, good and not ridiculously overpriced. I like their chicken fried steak and it's a Texas size serving, for sure. My kids get the enchiladas and there are steak fingers that are pretty darn yummy as well. ”
